So the second leg of the journey I kayaked solo. I began this leg on June 16th. I left Bartletts Landing and kayaked to Miliken Island. Near the Blodgen Reserve (red chairs on shore) I saw many seal in the water. This leg was nine miles and took me three hours. I remember being concerned about the tide level because I had read reports that it can be difficult along Bartletts Island at certain tides.
I managed to not have an issue but recall that it is so different figuring out direction from the water when there are many points of land ahead. At times it was hard to tell if I was along the shore or heading out to a point of land on the island. It was a good day.
