Hike number 23 of the 52 challenge YAY!

Today I hiked again a hike I have done often but it challenges me and really like the views I get once I am up high along the side of Dorr Mountain.

Hiked from my house to Jesup trail to Hemlock Road to Homan Path to Emery Trail to Kurt Diederich’s climb and then back to my house by Stratheden and Kebo brook trail.IMG_1264

I have posted a photo climbing up these steps but this is looking back!  Sweet rocks.

Lunch with a view of the Great Meadow!

Last few steps after lunch I think at least climbing!

On Diederich’s Climb I again saw the boulder that came part way down the mountain and took out part of the rock path.  Still a pretty impressive amount of damage.  A game camera to catch these rolling rocks would be neat to see.  It was a gorgeous day.

I heard common yellow throat, two birds that were olive green looked like warblers, heard a warbler I could not identify.  Heard red eye vireo, ovenbird and black throated green.  The book at Seur de Mont said a Canada warbler was seen, a northern Parula warbler, and a Swainson’s Thrush.  The walk took from 11:30 until 1:30 and I sat about half an hour to eat and rest.  It was tough climbing.  Feeling tired today.
