A few weekends ago I went into the park with my daughter with a pencil instead of a trekking pole. It was challenging but worth every minute. We both sat and sketched a part of Maine’s beautiful coastline. The first time we did it I was rather overwhelmed. The second time we did it I found it more relaxing and could see more clearly how to sketch what I was viewing. I will spend more time doing this through the summer as my ankle heals from a recent fall. I am not happy about the dust my trekking poles are gathering but I will be patient and rest in the Lord as I sketch away weekly.
Below is the second day we ventured out and drew Otter cove in ANP.
Below is my first sketch a few days before the one of Otter cove. Though challenging it was a good exercise.
